Baseball fans and anime fans unite! The hottest night in baseball is coming to Dodger Stadium this July. The Los Angeles Dodgers have teamed up with renowned anime studio Toei Animation to launch a special one-day stadium event celebrating the global hit, ONE PIECE. The special ONE PIECE Night will take place on Thursday, July 3 for the Dodgers’ 7:10 p.m. game against the Chicago White Sox.
In the press release, Lon Rosen, the Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer, Los Angeles Dodgers stated, “This exciting partnership between the Dodgers and Toei Animation will bring a fun-filled event to Dodger Stadium. It’s great to showcase ONE PIECE, one of the most popular franchises in the world, to the best fan base in the world.”
What is ONE PIECE?
Produced by Toei Animation and based on the best-selling manga by Eiichiro Oda, ONE PIECE has become a global pop culture phenomenon. Since its television debut in Japan in 1999, the beloved series has captivated audiences of all ages for over 25 years. The franchise has since expanded far beyond the screen, boasting 15 feature films, a wide array of video games, a trading card game, and a growing lineup of licensed merchandise and immersive, location-based experiences.
What will happen on ONE PIECE Night?
ONE PIECE Night at Dodger Stadium will feature a range of themed activations throughout the venue, immersing fans in the world of the beloved series. As part of the celebration, the first 40,000 ticketed guests will receive a limited-edition, co-branded ONE PIECE straw hat (just like Luffy’s!) upon entry, while supplies last. The evening will wrap up with a spectacular drone show spotlighting fan-favorite characters from the series.
