With the Oscars taking place this Sunday, March 15, at the Dolby Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, several streets will be partially or fully closed, and some areas will be off-limits to pedestrians. Here’s what to expect for the Oscars road closures:
Friday, March 13

- Hawthorn Avenue will be closed between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive from 12:01 AM until 6:00 AM on March 16.
Saturday, March 14 (day before the Oscars)

6:00 AM March 14 – 6:00 AM March 16
- Orchid Avenue, from 60 feet south of Franklin Avenue to Johnny Grant Way, will be closed except for residents, emergency vehicles, and hotel deliveries.
- Orange Drive, from Johnny Grant Way to Hollywood Boulevard, will also be closed, with access allowed for local residents, businesses, and emergency vehicles.
10:00 PM March 14 – 6:00 AM March 16
- The north sidewalk of Hollywood Boulevard, from Highland Avenue to Orange Drive, will be closed.
- Pedestrian traffic will be rerouted to the south sidewalk.
- The MTA station will be bypassed from the last regularly scheduled train on March 14 until the first train after 6:00 AM on March 16.

- The west sidewalk of Highland Avenue, from Johnny Grant Way south to Hollywood Boulevard, will be closed.

- Johnny Grant Way, between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive, will be closed.
Sunday, March 15 (day of the Oscars) through March 16

- The remainder of Hawthorn Alley, from Orange Drive to Highland Avenue, will be closed.
- Orange Drive, from Hollywood Boulevard to Lanewood Avenue, will be closed.
- North sidewalk of Hollywood Boulevard, from Highland Avenue to 300 feet east, will have no pedestrian access.
- South sidewalk of Hollywood Boulevard, from Highland Avenue to 300 feet east, will remain open with an 8-foot pedestrian path.
- South sidewalk in front of Hawthorn Alley (north-south) will be closed, no pedestrian crossing allowed.
- East sidewalk and curb lane of Highland Avenue, from Yucca Street to Sunset Boulevard, will remain open only with an 8-foot pedestrian path (300 feet south of Hollywood Boulevard).
- West sidewalk closure extended on Highland Avenue from Hollywood Boulevard to Sunset Boulevard.
- West curb of Highland Avenue, from Johnny Grant Way to Hollywood Boulevard, will be closed until 9:00 AM.
4:00 AM March 15 – 4:00 AM March 16
- North and south crosswalks at Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue will be closed.
- Highland Avenue, from Sunset Boulevard to Franklin Avenue, will be closed.
- Hollywood Boulevard, from La Brea Avenue to Orange Drive, and from Highland Avenue to Cahuenga Boulevard, will be closed (except for local residents, business access, and emergency vehicles).
- Hawthorn Avenue between Orange Drive and La Brea Avenue, and between Highland Avenue and McCadden Place, will be closed.
- McCadden Place, from Yucca Street to Hollywood Boulevard, will be closed.
- Yucca Street, from Highland Avenue to Wilcox Avenue, will be closed.
- Wilcox Avenue, from Sunset Boulevard to Cahuenga Boulevard, will be closed.
- South sidewalk of Franklin Avenue, from Orchid Avenue to Highland Avenue, will be closed.
- Hillcrest Road, south of Franklin Avenue to the dead end, will be closed.
