Plaza México in Lynwood is inviting families, friends, and Lotería lovers to gather every Thursday for its weekly Jueves de Lotería. It’s a lively afternoon celebrating one of Mexico’s most beloved traditional games.
Held inside Plaza México’s Mercado, the free event welcomes both seasoned players and first-timers for two hours of friendly competition, exciting prizes, and a vibrant community atmosphere.
What is Lotería?
Often described as Mexico’s version of Bingo, Lotería uses beautifully illustrated cards featuring traditional Mexican symbols instead of numbered balls. As each card is called, players mark the matching image on their game board. The first person to complete the winning pattern and shout “¡Lotería!” takes home the prize.
Whether you’ve grown up playing or have never tried it before, organizers say everyone is welcome to join in the fun.
