The famous Porto’s Cuban bakery has been a Southern California staple for years, and now it’s made its way to Northridge.
The new Porto’s location finally opened up its doors this past Tuesday and locals rushed to get their favorite Cuban goodies. This spot was initially supposed to open in December 2020, but there were delays due to the pandemic. Before its official opening, in an effort to drum up some excitement, the bakery served up its famous pastries at the local farmer’s market.
“From the moment we decided to call this amazing community our newest home, we knew this location was going to be special,” the bakery posted on their Instagram. “You welcomed us with open arms, you never missed a farmer’s market, and you waited patiently while we worked through unprecedented times to bring our family bakery to your neighborhood.”
Porto’s opened in Glendale, then found its way to Burbank, Downey, Buena Park and West Covina. This makes the new Northridge bakery its sixth location. Rosa Porto opened her first storefront back in 1976, and today her bakeries carry on her legacy.
On the Porto’s site, they share, “Rosa’s recipes and high standards continue to be carried on by her family, reflective of her motto “quality is the number one ingredient in everything we do”. Come visit our bakery and you will experience home baking at its best!”
Now Angelenos have another spot to get their potato balls, guava pastries, mango mousse cakes, and chocolate chip cookies!
All locations are open for dine-in and pick-up. Check out the Porto’s Bakery site for updated hours.
