Project ReWear’s WEARhouse Sale is returning to Newbury Park on Saturday, August 22, bringing thousands of secondhand clothes, shoes, purses, accessories, books and more to shoppers. And they’re all priced at just $2 per pound.
And unlike your typical shopping trip, there’s a way to actually see the impact of what you buy.
Every purchase is weighed at checkout, allowing Project ReWear to track exactly how many pounds of clothing and other goods shoppers collectively keep in circulation.
Thousands of pounds of clothing have already been diverted
The numbers from Project ReWear’s previous WEARhouse events are pretty remarkable.
At the most recent sale in May, more than 450 shoppers showed up, with some even waiting outside in the rain. Over the course of just 13 hours, shoppers diverted 2,538 pounds of clothing from the waste stream.
Across the first three WEARhouse events, more than 1,000 people have participated.
Project ReWear says it has also tracked 23,926 pounds through its Landfill and Don8 Projects, while more than 1,500 pounds of wearable clothing have been redistributed locally to support people in need.
So while you’re digging through racks looking for your next favorite jacket or pair of jeans, you’re also helping give perfectly usable items another life.
What to expect at the $2-per-pound sale
The WEARhouse Sale will take over Project ReWear’s Newbury Park space with indoor and outdoor shopping, featuring a huge selection of secondhand finds.

There will also be a special GAP brand area, with Project ReWear playfully describing the section as a way to “bridge the GAP” on landfill waste.
