For local thrill-seekers and paranormal enthusiasts, The Queen Mary in Long Beach is a must-visit destination — especially during Halloween. Dubbed one of the most haunted places in America by Time Magazine, this historic ship is steeped in intriguing lore and ghostly encounters. After a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic and necessary renovations, the legendary Dark Harbor event has been resurrected — and it’s ready to haunt.
From 2010 to 2019, Dark Harbor was a beloved Halloween tradition that transformed The Queen Mary and its surrounding harbor into a vibrant festival filled with monsters and spirits at every turn. During its break, the front of the ship was taken over by Shaqtober, an exciting attraction with our very own Shaq for two years. However, fans can now rejoice as Dark Harbor returns to reclaim its place in L.A.’s Halloween traditions!
This year’s event promises an exciting array of haunted mazes, live entertainment, themed bars and lounges, and delicious seasonal treats. Guests can look forward to immersive experiences aboard the ship, along with the return of beloved character icons from previous years, plus some fresh new faces (or should we say spirits) to make things extra thrilling.
It’s no secret — the ghostly magic of The Queen Mary is officially back, daring you to embrace the spooky spirit and prepare for an unforgettable experience. This is a seasonal fright, so don’t miss your chance to experience the spine-tingling fun of Dark Harbor — where history and haunting come to life!
