Riding the Aqua Rocket
The Aqua Rocket sends inflatable rafts, carrying two to four riders, through an adrenaline-filled water coaster course. The experience kicks off with a conveyor lift that raises riders 55 feet above the park, offering panoramic views before the real action begins.
From there, the ride alternates between gravity-driven drops and magnet-powered uphill sections, weaving through both open-air stretches and enclosed tunnels, with sharp turns and rapid transitions throughout. The finale ends in a dramatic splashdown that guarantees everyone gets soaked.
Unlike traditional water slides that rely solely on gravity, the Aqua Rocket uses linear induction motors to propel rafts uphill as well as down. These “rocket incline zones” create the unusual sensation of being pushed upward on water, adding variety and intensity that mimics the twists and surges of a roller coaster. It remains the only ride in California to use this advanced hydromagnetic system.
Rafts hold up to four riders with a maximum combined weight of 700 pounds. Guests must be at least 42 inches tall to ride, and children under 48 inches must be accompanied by an adult.
