There’s nothing quite like the first real weekend of an L.A. summer — when the sun finally drops, the air stays warm, and the music takes over the streets. With the arrival of Santa Monica Block Fest Vol IV, a three-block stretch of the Third Street Promenade will be handed over to a massive, open-air cultural takeover. Co-presented by the City of Santa Monica and Downtown Santa Monica Inc., in partnership with Yappy Studios, this isn’t your standard community street fair. It’s a full-scale, late-night festival takeover that is completely free, open to the public, and entirely unconfined.
What to do in Santa Monica Block Fest
Santa Monica Block Fest is leaning into a highly energetic intersection: the celebration of Pride Month colliding directly with the opening weekend of the World Cup. The three-block layout will blend inclusive dance spaces hosted by live DJs with special World Cup live-screenings.
- Dance across three blocks of live music: Avoid the standard street buskers. The entire promenade is getting a massive upgrade with multi-stage, full-scale production and live DJs spinning everything from deep house to open-format sets.
- Hit the brand-new food & merch night market: For the first time ever, the festival is expanding outward to Arizona Ave, packing the street with over 20 food vendors, local night bites, and curated makers.
- Drink on the move inside the EZSM zone: Because of the city’s open-container entertainment zone framework, you can grab a drink at the pop-up bars or VIP lounges and stroll freely through the crowd.
