It’s been a whole two decades since Scooby and the gang first graced the big screen with the 60s-infused charm of the hit show. To celebrate the 2oth anniversary of Scooby-Doo: The Movie, Scooby and Shaggy will be hosting guests in the Mystery Machine—well, a perfect replica of it. Fans can reserve a one-night stay on Airbnb and immersive themselves in Y2K nostalgia on the California coast.
This groovy staycation will only be available for June 24, 25 and 26, with bookings opening on June 16 at 1 p.m. eastern time. Organizers have highlighted that the Mystery Machine experience entails only one night for two guests per night.
Those lucky enough to get a booking will tuck into an unlimited supply of Scooby Snacks (like hot dogs and eggplant burgers), explore throwbacks like the Sugar Ray album on a portable CD player, marvel at a glowing lava lamp or try on Shaggy’s signature shell necklace. While the breathtaking SoCal scenery should be enough to keep you busy, you’ll also get to put your mystery-solving skills to the test with some thrilling Scooby-Doo games.
At night, you can hang out in a hammock under the stars and even strum the guitar before curling up in the van to re-watch the movie with a healthy spread of popcorn and candy. Don’t worry, the Warner Bros. gang promise to keep monsters at bay for the duration of your stay.
Upon arrival, Shaggy and Scooby will be there to welcome you (virtually), along with your concierge. However, guests are responsible for getting to and from the destination. You’ll also need to be over 18 and comply with COVID-19 safety measures.
