About 13 years ago, a small gathering of just 15 Corgis took place in Huntington Beach. The event was a casual and fun way to celebrate nearly a year of recovery for Mr. Pickles, who had gone through several knee surgeries. Three months later, the meetup drew 100 people, then 500, 1,000… you get the idea.
Now, more than a decade later, SoCal Corgi Beach Day has become a one-of-a-kind event and the largest in the world, drawing thousands of Corgis and their humans, and growing bigger with each edition!
This October, the beach transforms once again into a sea of wagging tails and tiny costumes as Corgis compete in a lineup of hilarious contests: from the “Best Corgi Butt” and “Loudest Barking” showdown to the Halloween-themed eating competition and the ever-popular Corgi Limbo.
Around the main area, more than 45 vendors fill the Corgi Marketplace with treats, accessories, and goodies designed for both dogs and their humans. Ten food trucks serve up everything from burgers to sweets, keeping the crowd energized between events. Halloween and fall-themed selfie stations ensure every moment is perfectly Instagram-ready.
Beyond the fun, the event also shines a spotlight on Corgi welfare. Rescue and education groups will have dedicated zones to raise awareness and connect dogs with new homes. Add in the Corgi Kissing Booth, celebrity Corgi meet-and-greets, giveaways, and the sheer joy of thousands of pups taking over the beach!
