Sounds of LA County is turning parks across Los Angeles into open-air music venues this summer with 108 free outdoor concerts at 27 LA County Parks. Running July 9 through August 29, 2026, the brand-new series celebrates the incredible diversity of L.A.’s local music scene.
Produced by NextFest LA in partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, the new standalone concert series is designed to bring festival-quality live music directly into neighborhoods throughout the county. And the best part is that it’s completely free of charge.
A customized musical experience
Unlike a traditional touring concert series, each performance is uniquely curated to reflect the culture and identity of the community where it’s held. Whether it’s norteño in La Puente, neo-soul in South L.A., or family-friendly performances in the Antelope Valley, every stop is designed to celebrate the neighborhood it’s serving.
“LA County Parks has always been a place where communities come together,” said Norma E. García-González, Director of the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation. “With Sounds of LA County, we’re expanding that tradition by creating new opportunities for local artists while giving residents free access to live music that reflects the unique culture of their own neighborhoods.”
What to expect at Sounds of LA County
Throughout the summer, audiences can experience performances from emerging and established local musicians across a wide variety of genres, including:
- Latin
- R&B
- Hip-hop
- Jazz
- Reggae
- Country
- Americana
- Indie
- Indigenous music
- Dance
- Family-friendly performances
Concerts take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at parks throughout North, East, and South Los Angeles County, including communities such as La Puente, Sylmar, Carson, Azusa, West Covina, Palmdale, Lancaster, Antelope Valley, and more.
The series also aims to strengthen L.A.’s creative economy by giving independent musicians paid performance opportunities while making live arts programming more accessible for residents.
Things to know before you go
All Sounds of LA County concerts are free to attend and take place outdoors at participating LA County Parks.
Visitors are encouraged to arrive early for the best viewing spots and to bring blankets or low-profile chairs where permitted. Since performances take place in neighborhood parks across the county, parking availability may vary by location.
