We all dream of visiting the iconic ruins of Ancient Greece, the Roman Colosseum, or the Sagrada Familia. A Euro trip is one of the most cherished and unforgettable travel goals you can experience. However, 2026 might be memorable for another reason, besides Europe’s preicous cities and delicious cuisine…
According to Euro Weekly News, several low-cost airlines, mainly the leader Ryanair, are considering introducing standing seats. The model is called Skyrider 2.0 and is more like a backrest with a support point that promises not only more passengers on planes but also extremely low prices: starting between 1 and 15 euros.
So, what’s the seat like? The description can be summed up as a padded bike seat anchored to the floor of the aircraft. The seats aren’t designed for you to travel completely upright, but rather with your knees semi-flexed at a 45-degree angle (a great quad workout!). Although the idea is to expand the use of this type of seating worldwide, it hasn’t yet been approved for use in the U.S.
