Born in the heart of Los Angeles in 1917 to the Riboli family, Stella Rosa has been the go-to wine for generations. Now, the beloved wine company is stepping into new territory―but they aren’t doing it alone.
They have joined forces with another household name, GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter, producer, and actress, Brandy Norwood to present their first-of-its-kind Stella Rosa Imported Brandy.
“It was a no-brainer to be part of this partnership,” shared Norwood with Secret Los Angeles. “It’s a dream come true honestly.”
The cleverness behind the collaboration is clear, but Steve Riboli, Vice President of Riboli Family Wines and 3rd Generation of the Riboli family, reminds us that a great deal of love and thought went behind the creation of their newest spirit.
“About five years ago, I thought it would be really interesting to have a beverage that could be a little higher in alcohol,” said Riboli. “But also something kind of fun that people can enjoy on the rocks.”
His true inspiration? The Riboli women and women across the globe. He recalls a moment when he noticed how his dear wife would often host game nights with friends, and as they sipped on spirits, they realized there was a need for a handcrafted spirit to call their very own.
“The vision was something very elegant for the female consumer,” said Riboli. “The female consumer, in my mind, is the future.”
His acknowledgment certainly holds weight. Women make up more than half of the U.S. population alone, and yet are often overlooked in the marketplace. With this in mind, Riboli knew that a powerful force was needed to get their message across.
“We knew we wanted a female ambassador. We wanted a real person. Someone that generations could relate to and understand,” said Riboli. “That’s Brandy [Norwood]. She is the real deal.”
Riboli reiterates the first person he thought of was Norwood, and it all just fell perfectly into place as the iconic singer held on to similar sentiments.
“It was an honor that they wanted me part of this campaign,” beamed Norwood. “I’m Brandy, and I have my own brandy―not just a regular brandy, it’s Stella Rosa Brandy.”
It’s often cautioned to not mess with success, but Stella Rosa and Norwood are challenging that very narrative by stepping into new ground together. Of course, this isn’t just another venture for the respected artist and wine company, but rather a true testament to both of their ever-evolving legacies and impact.
“We as a 100-year-old family are not married to the past,” said Executive of Riboli Family Wines, Steve Riboli. “We’re looking at the future and where’s it all going.”
The Stella Rosa Brandy may be their first spirit, but it’s safe to say it certainly won’t be their last.
