Pepsi’s halftime show trailer is out, and here are all the artists you’ll get to see during the Super Bowl.
While sports fans are tuning in for America’s favorite pastime, others are doing it for the Super Bowl halftime show. This year, there’ll be enough talent packed into Pepsi’s 12-minute intermission to match any action-packed NFL game. This will be the first time the game is hosted at SoFi Stadium and the first time L.A. has hosted a Super Bowl since 1993. In a new trailer titeled “The Call”, award-winning director Felix Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton and Friday) delivers a cinematic 90s-style feast, featuring the legendary Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar. It opens with current-day Eminem performing “Rap God” in a Minority Report-style face-off with a peroxide-blonde Slim Shady.
A plane takes off, flying us to the West Coast with the Snoop Dogg bobbing up in a low-rider playing “The Next Episode” as he cruises along a palm-lined boulevard. It swiftly switches to a glammed-up Blige walks onto a sleek set in a blue coat blue with “Family Affairs” playing. Urban poet Kendrick Lamar pulls up in high-rise bike with “humble” playing in the background.
All the artists take a call from Compton-native Dre, bringing them all to SoFi stadium, the home of the L.A. Rams where the trailer ends.
