This historic Atwater pub L.A. treasure has been drawing crowds since its crooked timber doors flung open in 1922. It was dreamed up by Lawrence Frank and Walter Van de Kamp and designed by the famous Hollywood set designer Harry Oliver. You’d struggle to miss the sunken roof and Medieval-style exterior while driving along Los Feliz Boulevard a century ago, and nothing much has changed since then—even with a slew of boutiques popping up around it.
