You might have seen this viral snack on TikTok, and now, Los Angeles is home to a new shop dedicated to serving up tanghulu.
In case you don’t know, tanghulu, also known as tang hulu or bingtang hulu — is a traditional Asian snack that consists of sugar-coated fruits, served on a bamboo skewer.
Now the obsession has officially arrived in Los Angeles with a new shop in Koreatown dedicated solely to these treats! Tangtastic just opened their store in December, and it’s already gained quite the popularity. Much like other L.A. destinations, there can be a line, but we have to say it’s worth the wait.
They offer several varieties of fruits you can choose from. Our favorite combo is the grapes and strawberries duo. They say the eyes eat first, and this snack is definitely photo-worthy. But even beyond looks, the treat offers just the right balance of juicy sweetness that’ll satisfy your cravings without the feeling of overindulging.
We also need to mention that they’re only $5 — 6! This just makes the bite into the crunchy caramelized shell and burst of flavors all the more delicious.
