Swifties are stirring after news broke this week of a mysterious Taylor Swift-branded pop-up installation in Los Angeles. Fan theories abound for what it could be, with only a few potential clues so far.
An opaque perimeter obscures whatever is going on at 8760 Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood, although visible elements include cutouts of Taylor Swift from Eras tour performances and the Disney+ logo.
The barrier bears text promoting Swift’s upcoming concert film, Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show, as well as the accompanying six-part documentary series, The End of an Era, both of which are scheduled to release on Disney+ in December.
What are people saying?
Needless to say, the rumor mill doth churn, and fans speculate that this installation could be a variety of things. Perhaps it’s a premiere for the film or docuseries? An intimate concert? Simply a pop-up promo?
“Taylor’s pop-up events like this are known to hide Easter eggs,” said creator Jonathan Miller Music, “and the day after the film and documentary series premieres is her birthday… so that whole weekend, something crazy could be happening.”
The tarp and Eras tour coverings appear to be covering the round, bright green building at 8760 Sunset Blvd that houses recording studio Mutato Muzika.
“It’s just set up to look like the Eras tour stage and the lights point down at her toward the street,” wrote a fan in the Taylor Swift Vault Facebook group. “There isn’t a ton of space on the sidewalk for more than a single file line, so I don’t think it’s much than a really amazing installation!!”
“But what’s inside!????” responded another fan.
What’s going on with the film and docuseries?
One year after the conclusion of The Eras Tour, Swift is gearing up to premiere the highly anticipated concert film, Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show, on December 12th, 2025, on Disney+.
In contrast to her 2023 concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, this new 2025 film will feature a full recording of her final show in Vancouver, which includes the updated The Tortured Poets Department set.
The new 2025 film will release simultaneously with the beginning of a six-part docuseries, titled The End of an Era, which provides a behind-the-scenes look at how her record-breaking Eras Tour was produced. Two episodes of the series will be released each week after the initial Dec. 12th release.
Though there’s no official confirmation of what it is just yet, fans speculate that a pop-up could open this week, just in time for the December 12th release and her birthday on December 13th.
