Los Angeles knows how to throw a street festival, but this year’s Songkran celebration in Thai Town is shaping up to be one for the record books.
Set to take over a stretch of Hollywood Boulevard on April 26th, the 17th annual Songkran Festival promises a full-day immersion into Thai New Year traditions, reimagined through an L.A. lens.
More than 40 food vendors will line the streets, offering everything from street market staples to modern twists on classic dishes. A beer garden, live DJs, and multiple performance stages will keep the energy high all night long.
But the festival’s biggest draw is a bold attempt to set a Guinness World Record by selling 1,200 orders of Pad Thai within a single hour.
A Record-Breaking Bite
This year’s record-breaking challenge feels tailor-made for a city obsessed with both food culture and breaking boundaries. With 30 restaurants firing up 30 woks simultaneously, it’s set to be a culinary spectacle. Noodles will be flying, and a crowd of eager participants will be ready to eat their way into the history books.
