Inside the Grammy Museum’s Olivia Rodrigo exhibit featuring a surreal cardboard hospital, animatronic felt hearts, original costumes and a special performance on the 1st

The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles is pulling back the curtain on one of the most visually striking music videos of the year.

Starting September 2, fans can walk directly into the handcrafted world of “The Cure”, the latest single from Olivia Rodrigo’s new album, You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love , through a new exhibition that showcases the original props, costumes, storyboards, and behind-the-scenes photography created for the video.

The video, directed by Cat Solen and Jaime Gerin, takes place entirely inside a handmade hospital where Rodrigo’s character experiments on felted human hearts searching for an antidote to her emotions.

Production designer Liam Moore built the surreal environment almost entirely from cardboard and hand-painted surfaces, incorporating miniatures, animatronic heart puppets, and stop-motion animation.

The exhibit brings those physical objects out of the studio and into the museum, including Rodrigo’s nurse costume worn during filming, the miniature operating room, and the beating felt heart prop.

A special evening program on Tuesday, September 1, the night before the public opening, will feature an interview and a live performance, giving attendees first access to the exhibit.

The museum has confirmed a second phase of the exhibition for early fall 2026, expanding into Rodrigo’s broader creative history with never-before-seen artefacts from across her career. Specific items will be announced closer to that opening. The full exhibition runs through February 22, 2027.

Rodrigo, who grew up visiting the Grammy Museum, described the project as a full-circle moment. Among the items already confirmed for the initial exhibit are handwritten and hand-stitched artwork used for the album’s cover art and packaging — details that reflect the same DIY aesthetic running through “the cure” video.
