This immersive performance is brought to life by a world-class cast with Chris Butler (CBS’ The Good Wife, TNT’s King & Maxwell, HBO’s True Blood) as the sorcerer Prosporo, Shakespearean actor Wayne T Carr (Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival) as Caliban, and Jin Maley (As We See It and Star Trek: Picard) as Ariel among others.
Experts on the Immortal Bard, The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles serves as the perfect venue for this night of innovative storytelling. They aim to transform individuals and communities with their award-winning productions and arts education experiences.
Their past productions include Henry IV featuring Tom Hanks as Sir John Falstaff, with Harry Groener, Hamish Linklater, Joe Morton, and Rondi Reed; As You Like It starring Tessa Thompson; and Much Ado About Nothing starring Academy Award-winner Helen Hunt and Lyle Lovett.
The Tempest: An Immersive Experience is produced in partnership with After Hours Theatre Company. Rather than passively watching a play, After Hours Theatre Company wants the audience to join them in the narrative. Their past productions have included One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, a multisensory version of The Last Five Years, and they assisted on the immersive elements around Hollywood’s Rock of Ages.
