1. Retro City Festival, January 5-6

Take on over 100 gaming classics like Joust, Space Invaders, and Burger Time at the Fairplex in Pomona. You might want to give you thumbs a little exercise to prepare yourself for an entire weekend of free play! 2. Pasadena Cheeseburger Week, January 6-11

Celebrate the invention of the Cheeseburger during a week-long event of over 40 restaurants offering burger deals, limited time creations, a Cheeseburger Crawl, and a Cheeseburger Challenge! Why Pasadena? Apparently, Lionel Sternberger invented the cheeseburger at just 16 years old in 1924 at Pasadena’s Rite Spot by throwing a slice of American cheddar on a bland burger. 3. No Pants Subway Ride, January 13

This event is pretty self-explanatory… on a chilly day in January, Angelenos will be stripping down to their undergarments to participate in the 11th annual Improv Everywhere No Pants Subway Ride. Don’t be surprised if you catch a couple of half-naked commuters in the middle of the afternoon. Learn more here!

4. Woman’s March, January 19

Gracing the nation for a third year and counting is the Woman’s March in support of social justice! The Los Angeles sector of the solidarity march begins at 9 a.m. in Pershing Square and concludes with a rally near City Hall in Grand Park. Learn more here!

5. Asian American Expo, January 19-20

Lunar New Year is right around the corner! Join an early celebration at this year’s Pan-Asian expo featuring live performances, three different food courts, beer sampling, anime, and more! 6. Chinese New Year Festival, January 29-27
