Malibu Wine Hikes at Saddlerock Ranch allows guests to experience their sprawling vineyard through several different experiences. These include guided hikes (meet new friends in a group or book a private tour), 4×4 excursions, and our personal favorite: a laid-back journey in a stunningly preserved vintage VW van.
On this sweet VW Wine Tour, you’ll encounter quirky vintage installations, ranging from local art pieces to landscapes that show off the skies perfect for photo ops. You’ll also get to taste local foods and wine on the premises and on the road at the other local wineries. While you’re sipping on various curated wines, it’s easy to get swept up in the beauty of the sweeping landscape.
The trip will take you through the breathtaking beauty of Saddlerock’s historic vineyards. Not only are there plenty of grapes on this property, but farm animals, art installations, and even some connections to the film industry as well! Saddlerock Ranch itself is breathtaking to behold, but the VW tour takes things one step further, bringing you out into Malibu to some incredible hidden spots.
The property of Saddlerock Ranch dates back some 300 years and encompasses 1,100 acres in the Santa Monica mountains. Our tour guide, Kurt, had all the best insider info about the vineyard’s history and the surrounding Malibu spots he took us to.
If you go with the VW option, you’ll feel as if you’ve travelled back in time as the vintage flower-child bus takes you to an oceanic overlook towards the end of the tour. Sipping on wine and munching on chocolate as we looked out onto the Malibu shoreline was the perfect end to an incredible adventure.
