As summer weather approaches, West Hollywood residents are enjoying the ultimate reprieve right in the heart of the city. While the West Hollywood Aquatic & Recreation Center already feels like a community staple, it’s actually just a few years old, having officially opened in 2022.
The four-level, 75,000-square-foot facility replaced the aging pool with a state-of-the-art design that maximizes urban space by placing the pools on the roof. Now, swimmers can enjoy their workout with views of the Hollywood Hills.
WeHo Aquatic Center programming and summer recreation
The facility features two primary pools: a 6,000-square-foot, ten-lane pool for lap swimming, and a 1,500-square-foot recreation pool perfect for families and casual wading.
The center runs year-round rooftop lap swim, open recreation swim, water fitness classes, and youth and adult swim lessons. Seasonal programs include Splash Camp, Junior Lifeguards, Blast Swim Team, and “Camp West Hollywood” for kids 6-11 in July and August.
With the school year winding down and temperatures climbing, the Aquatic Center is a great place to connect with WeHo’s investment in wellness and public space.
