
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has announced multiple ramp closures for the I-10 and 101 freeways in effect for Wednesday evening.
The Sheriff’s Department posted an infographic detailing which ramps would be closed at 6:33 pm on Wednesday, June 11.
“Multiple ramp closures are in effect along US-101 through downtown Los Angeles, including on/off-ramps at Broadway, Los Angeles St, Alameda St, and more,” it reads. “Heavy traffic and delays are expected.”
They are also advising drivers to use alternate routes, allow extra travel time, and to check navigation apps for live updates.
“Your patience helps keep everyone safe,” the post concluded. “Thank you!”

How long will the closures been in affect?
The Sheriff’s Department’s post did not say when the ramp closures would go into effect, or when they might be lifted.
It is presumed they will last throughout the evening of Wednesday, June 11.

Why are the ramps closed?
The recent closures come after several days of largely peaceful demonstrations in response to immigration enforcement across Los Angeles. On Monday night, a protest in DTLA escalated, leading to confrontations between some demonstrators and law enforcement. Authorities reported more than 100 arrests and damage to 23 businesses.
Is there a curfew for Downtown Los Angeles?
Yes.
On Tuesday, June 10, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass issued a curfew for the Downtown Los Angeles area “from 8 pm tonight until 6 am tomorrow.”
The curfew was reissued on Wednesday, June 11 for 8 p.m. and is set to conclude on June 12, 2025, at 6 a.m.
What areas of Downtown L.A. are impacted by this curfew?
The impacted area is one square mile, from the 5 freeway to the 110 freeway, and from the 10 to the merging point of the 11o and 5.
The curfew applies to a one-square-mile section of Downtown Los Angeles, bordered by major freeways and streets. Neighborhoods within or near this curfew zone include:
- Little Tokyo
- Skid Row
- Fashion District
- Arts District
- Chinatown
- Parts of South Park and Historic Core
