Studio Ghibli fans, our time is now! A two-week tribute to the films and legacy of Hayao Miyazaki is headed to one L.A. theatre this December.
The Fine Arts Theatre in Beverly Hills is hosting an immersive Studio Ghibli Double-Feature Event Series, where they’re playing all twenty-two films of the beloved animation company on their big screen.
Between December 19 and January 1, 2026, two Miyazaki films will be screening at the theatre almost every day, back to back, beginning at 7 pm each evening. All programs are double features and will screen in Japanese with English subtitles.
The theatre is also encouraging fans to come dressed as their favorite Studio Ghibli character to enter their costume contest. According to a press release, “All entries will be judged at the end of the series by a committee of judges to be announced. First place is a mini poster of a Studio Ghibli film of your choice, plus a Studio Ghibli plushie. Second prize is a mini poster of a Studio Ghibli film of your choice. Third Prize is a free small popcorn.”
Parking is free at the Beverly Hills City Garage (321 S. La Cienega Blvd.) after 4:00 pm, and all day on weekends. Metered parking is free on Sundays. You can find ticket information here.
