Southern California is constantly getting new transportation projects designed to improve connectivity, pavement conditions and safety, but that work can temporarily disrupt traffic, sometimes on some of the busiest highways in the state. This September, roughly 4 miles of the 101 Freeway and more than 5 miles of the 405 will see overnight lane closures and reductions.

A separate weekend project will reduce southbound 405 to three lanes between Ventura Boulevard and Mulholland Drive from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday. The Ventura Boulevard on-ramp and Valley Vista/Sepulveda Boulevard ramps will also close, while northbound 405 will not have lane reductions.
