Calling all Jane Austen fans – this one is for you. As we eagerly await the release of Sense and Sensibility only in theaters October 16, there is a very special Candlelight Concert to get you even more excited in the lead-up. On October 10, a string quartet and pianist will take to the stage at Pasadena Presbyterian Church to play a tribute to Jane Austen – surrounded by the soft glow of hundreds of candles.
What can I expect from the concert?
There is something truly magical about hearing a string quartet play classical tunes by candlelight, and the inclusion of Jane Austen-inspired songs makes that even more special. You won’t just be listening to any old concert on this night. Expect to be swept away by the historic surroundings of the Pasadena Presbyterian Church, in an evening inspired by the elegance, romance and drama associated with Jane Austen’s novels. The setlist will range from songs you’ll know from past Jane Austen adaptations to music that was inspired by her stories – expect familiar tunes and perhaps some new favorites to add to your playlist.

What do I need to know before the night?
Whether you’re a die-hard fan of all of Jane Austen’s books or you’re a relative newcomer thanks to the Sense and Sensibility trailer, don’t worry about brushing up on any background knowledge ahead of time. This is a night to just sit back and enjoy some classic tunes in a beautiful setting. The only thing to do in advance is book your tickets. Seats are limited and likely to sell out quickly! It all takes place on October 10 at Pasadena Presbyterian Church at 8:15pm. Don’t worry if you can’t make the Candlelight Concert concert, you can buy tickets to see the film in theatres from October 16.
