Have you ever experienced an elegant afternoon tea or high tea in Los Angeles? We’ve rounded up our favorite restaurants and tea rooms where you can enjoy an extraordinary dining experience, whether you’re seeking a five-star meal at one of LA’s fanciest hotels, or a specially-curated spread from an intimate tea parlor. Don’t forget: pinkies up, and dress to impress!
Americans often use the names “afternoon tea” and “high tea” interchangeably, but they come from two distinctly different British tea traditions. “Afternoon tea” refers to a lighter service around 4pm, typically with low, comfortable tables and snacks like sandwiches, scones, and cake. “High tea,” nowadays often referred to as “supper,” refers to a more hardy after-work meal served at a dining table. With that in mind, we’ve included both traditional tea services and more modern versions in our Los Angeles list.
Secret Los Angeles relies on the team’s personal experiences, recommendations, editorial reviews, and customer feedback before choosing our favorite places to grab a bite or sip cocktails in LA. This list is constantly evolving, so please check back regularly.
