A new Korean experience has opened in Los Angeles!
On January 15, 2026, The Twelve Panels of Grace’ Lights of Korea: Jinju Silk Lanterns recently premiered in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Koreatown.
According to the Korean Cultural Center’s website, the exhibition is a contemporary interpretation of a traditional Korean heritage event. “The design draws inspiration from the graceful silhouette of the twelve-panel skirt featured in the iconic painting Portrait of a Beauty by Shin, Yun-bok, a legendary artist of the Joseon Dynasty. Layered in a circular embrace, these lanterns evoke the warmth and generosity associated with the maternal figure in Korean tradition.”
The exhibition is free to enter. Just days after its release, the experience is going viral on social media. The exhibit is now open and runs through February 28, 2026.
