Amanda Seyfried, actor and star Mean Girls, Dear John, and the upcoming thriller film The Housemaid, opened up about her favorite spots in Los Angeles, and she took the time to spotlight a mid-city chop house.
We caught up with the actor in L.A. alongside her Housemaid costar, Sydney Sweeney, which led to a hilarious interaction between the two.
“I like Jar,” Seyfried tells Secret Los Angeles.
“What’s that?” responds Sweeney.
“It’s like a steak restaurant where I get a martini and the purple potatoes. Really good. And they have butterscotch pudding.”
Jar is a women-owned, “modern American chop house” positioned in L.A.’s Beverly Grove neighborhood, right at the corner of Beverly and Harper.
Their menu includes their signature pot roast, a Char Siu Pork Chop, Seyfried’s beloved Purple yams, crème fraiche, and much more.
📍Where: 8225 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90048

The two stars went on to play a game of This Or That: Thriller Movie Edition, where they pitted some of the best thriller films and their own iconic roles against each other. The Housemaid, the latest thriller from the two leading ladies, is headed to the big screen on December 19, 2025.
