The Garden Grove Strawberry Festival is rolling into town over Memorial Day Weekend, and this year’s theme is all about honoring what makes the city truly shine: its cultural diversity. Organized by the Garden Grove Strawberry Festival Association (GGSFA), this beloved event is more than just a berry good time, it’s a heartwarming nod to community, heritage, and togetherness.
Leading this year’s parade are two inspiring figures: Kate Linder, beloved actress from The Young and the Restless and longtime philanthropist, and Sylvia Mendez, civil rights icon whose historic court case helped desegregate American schools.
Here’s what you can expect at this year’s berry-filled bash: free strawberry shortcake at the opening ceremony, a star-studded parade featuring celebs, bands, and local heroes, plus live concerts, quirky contests, and plenty of family-friendly fun.
The weekend will also include carnival rides, games, celebrity sightings, autograph signings, and, of course, tons of delicious strawberry-inspired treats, with some tasty new additions this year. Best of all, admission is totally free, and proceeds go toward supporting local nonprofits.
