During strawberry season from April through July, the L.A. area is bursting with juicy red berries courtesy of some of the state’s best strawberry farms. If you’ve never picked your own fruit straight from the source, you’re in for a treat at these local fields where you can go strawberry picking in Los Angeles. Scroll through and start planning a memorable outing to kick off the summer. Happy picking!
Peak strawberry season varies by farm and can fluctuate year to year. Make sure you check strawberry picking availability with your destination before hitting the road.
1. Tanaka Farms
Tanaka Farms has been a prime destination for strawberry picking near Los Angeles for decades. They offer a charming strawberry picking tour geared towards families, where you’ll hop aboard a wagon to learn about the history of the property, farming process, and pick and eat the berries on site. You’ll go home with a one-pound basket of berries (or, depending on availability, they’ll sub in other in-season produce). Don’t forget to pay a visit to the adorable farm animals at the Barnyard Educational Exhibit.
