Californians are finding love on dating apps more than anywhere else, according to this new study from the jewelry brand, Shane Co. There are so many ways to find love, from sparks flying at a work to meeting an attractive stranger at a party. But more and more people are turning to dating apps to find true love. According to this new study, 14% of Californians have found their current partner on dating apps.
Romantic Research
The study on romance by Shane Co. suggests that where you live may influence how you meet your significant other. The famous jewelry brand “asked over 2,000 Americans to share how they met their partners and the influence they believe it had on their relationship to uncover exactly how swoon-worthy our nation is.”
Specifically, the research found that “dating apps have carved out a significant role in modern matchmaking, particularly for those aged 25-34, where 13% have found love through a swipe.”
California Love
However, that number jumps even higher in California, with those finding companionship and love through swipes climbing to 14%. This is almost double the national average of 8%.
In California, the second most common way to meet a romantic partner is through social media, with 12% of residents reporting that this method led to lasting love. Office romances are just as popular, with 12% of people saying they found a spark with a colleague. The third most common way couples meet is through mutual friends, with 10% of couples connecting this way.
Dating in L.A.
Of course, Angelenos know it can be challenging to find – and keep – a date! And there are many red flags to look out for when navigating the L.A. dating scene.
The survey ultimately found that the way you meet your partner is more than just a fun story for dinner parties. It often sets the stage for how the relationship develops, influencing the time spent together, shared values, and the memories you create along the way.
