A new restaurant in West Hollywood has one very unusual menu item.
Viva La Mamma, a new “not-so Italian” restaurant, has opened its first U.S. location on W 3rd Street. The restaurant originally hails from Vienna, Austria and boasts a colorful interior with loud pattersn and vibrant splashes of color. The menu is actually a vinyl case, with a real vinyl inside. Their inventive menu features items like the Ragù della Mamma, Broccolicious Pasta, Truffle Love Pasta, and the Some Like It Hot Pizza, but there is one item with a hefty price tag that is catching guests attention.
Under the pizzas, guests might spot the Mama Rich – but unlike the eatery’s other pizzas, priced ranging from $20-30, the Mama Rich is tagged at $790.
If there are eight slices of the pizza like most standard pizzas, that’s almost a $100 a slice.
What’s on the Mama Rich pizza?
The ingredients are listed as panna, fior di latte, stracciatella, and 100g of caviar. You can also choose between 750 ml of Chandon Ice Imperial or 375 ml of Padre Azul Premium Tequila Reposado.
The crust also comes highy recommended, as the menu lists at the top; “Mamma’s pizza dough is the whole family’s secret.”
What’s it taste like?
According to restaurant staff, no one has ordered the menu item since the restaurant location opened at the end of March. In fact, servers haven’t even tasted the pizza and are unable to describe the taste or flavor of the dish.
Would you try an $800 caviar and tequila pizza?
This isn’t the only high-ticket item on the menu. Viva La Mamma also serves a foaccia bread with 100g of caviar for $350.
