Los Angeles just picked up another major Michelin moment. On May 20, Michelin announced 11 new LA-area restaurants added to the California Michelin Guide.
The Michelin inspectors are paying especially close attention to the city’s current dining wave: intimate omakase counters, ambitious neighborhood spots, live-fire cooking, modern Korean American cuisine, and destination-worthy tacos all made the cut.
This is Michelin’s second California Guide update in just the past few months. Back in March, the guide also added several L.A.-area restaurants including Little Fish Melrose Hill, Lapaba, and Lugya’h by Poncho’s Tlayudas.
The additions don’t yet come with stars or Bib Gourmand status, but inclusion in the guide means each restaurant is officially on Michelin’s radar ahead of the 2026 California ceremony taking place June 24 in San Diego.
Here are the 11 Los Angeles-area restaurants newly added to the Michelin Guide:
Miura in Beverly Hills
Miura has quietly become one of the hardest sushi reservations to score in L.A. thanks to chef Derek Wilcox’s super precise omakase.
ALTO in Studio City
ALTO is all about wood-fired cooking inspired by Argentina and Uruguay, with smoky flavors and a stylish vibe. It’s quickly become one of the Valley’s buzziest dinner spots.
Casa Leo in Los Feliz
Casa Leo has become a neighborhood favorite for its cozy atmosphere and modern Spanish menu. Chef Joshua Whigham brings fine-dining experience without making the place feel overly serious.
Electric Bleu in Mar Vista
Electric Bleu is bringing a cool California twist to the classic French bistro. The restaurant feels polished but still relaxed – a very L.A. vibe.
Kojima in Sawtelle
Kojima has become one of L.A.’s standout omakase counters with just eight seats and an intimate sushi experience.
Lielle in Pico-Robertson
Lielle comes from acclaimed Swedish chef Marcus Jernmark and blends Scandinavian technique with California ingredients. The tasting menu feels ambitious without losing that laid-back L.A. energy.
Lynx in the Arts District
Lynx mixes pizza, cocktails, and high-level cooking into one of downtown’s most talked-about new restaurants.
The Mulberry in Sawtelle
The Mulberry is earning attention for its modern Korean American comfort food and always-busy dining room.
Sonoratown, with locations in downtown Los Angeles, Mid-City and Long Beach
Sonoratown has long been considered one of L.A.’s essential taco spots, especially for its famous flour tortillas.
SORA Craft Kitchen in downtown Los Angeles
SORA Craft Kitchen has built a loyal following with its Anatolian and Turkish-inspired dishes. Its Michelin nod shows how much more attention regional cuisines are getting in L.A. right now.
Good Alley in Rosemead
Good Alley is helping cement the San Gabriel Valley’s reputation as one of the best food regions in the country. The restaurant has become known for modern dumplings and creative Chinese-inspired dishes that keep drawing crowds.
