Nobu Malibu is open and it’s everything we need in our lives right now: culinary escapism.
This Nobu outpost is known for its impeccable food served alongside the breathtaking views of the ocean and the celebrities that frequent it. Regardless of its usual clientele and sleek interiors, there’s a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where everyone is treated like a VIP guest. You might have reserved this spot for special dinner occasions where you savor every mouthful of the exotic offerings which could range from the beautiful sushi combinations, the omakase menu, or even marbled wagyu. But its reputation for producing colorful seafood creations can make it easy to miss the opportunity to enjoy a lesser-known lunch classic: Jirdori chicken.
It has been described by staff as the “Wagyu of chicken.” The Japanese poultry breed is a superior quality which is matched by its higher-than-usual price of $30. Though, its robust, rich chicken flavor does make this unique experience worth it.
UPDATE: A previous version of this article previously referred to the Jidori chicken and waffles, but waffles may no longer be a part of this option. Be sure to check the menu online before going.
Nothing can quite beat lunch with the salty ocean breeze and waves lapping against the shore just next to you either. There’s plenty on the drinks menu to keep you there until sunset like a “Grapefruit on the rocks” featuring Belvedere Pink Grapefruit, Canton Ginger Liqueur, St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur & Grapefruit or the “Yuzu Citrus Cooler” centered around a Stoli Citros Vodka, Kumquats, Orange, Mint, Fresh Lemonade & Yuzu Juice.
