Tickets for the screening of this one-night-only event “Untitled” are now on sale.
On October 7, Dave Chappelle will be taking over the Hollywood Bowl with a live comedy show and music for the screening of his “Untitled” documentary. Tickets went on sale on sale Saturday, September 18 and are expected to sell out quickly, so if you’re a fan, you won’t want to miss out on this exuberant entertainment extravaganza.
There will be a lineup of Chappelle’s friends, which if his iconic NYC Block Party is anything to go by, could be anyone from Kanye West to Erykah Badu. As with the name of the documentary, full details are yet to be announced but music is just a bonus when you have one of the greatest comedians of all time on stage. Since his events have no camera and phone policy, you won’t be able to catch the performances on social media.
Dave Chappelle is the film’s producer and it’s directed by Oscar and Emmy-winning filmmakers Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar of American Factory. It’s centered on the rural town of Yellow Springs, Ohio (where Chappelle has a home) during the beginning of the pandemic. It showcases the community’s resilience as it follows his journey of starting and running his lively outdoor shows going while locals and COVID test requirements threatened to shut it down.
With George Floyd protests happening in parallel, the film zooms in local tension, reflecting the wider sociopolitical mayhem happening over the 2020 summer.
