Hip-hop legend Dr.Dre is set to be honored with his very own Walk of Fame star.
This is just another accomplishment on the iconic producer and rapper’s list. The West Coast-born and raised entrepreneur has won nine GRAMMYs, has sold over 50 million albums worldwide, and has an incredible talent for discovering other stars such as Eminem, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, and Anderson .Paak among others.
“Dr. Dre’s contributions to the music industry are undeniable and have left an indelible mark on popular culture. As a producer, rapper, and entrepreneur, Dr. Dre has continuously pushed boundaries and set new standards for excellence,” stated Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “It is with great pride that we honor his incredible career and extraordinary impact by awarding him a star on the Walk of Fame.”
The celebration doesn’t stop there. His star will also be appropriately placed next to long-time friend and colleague Snoop Dogg. Dre will also receive a speech from Snoop and record executive Jimmy Iovine during the unveiling ceremony, and set to be emceed by Big Boy.
Dre’s Walk of Fame star will be the 2,775th star in Hollywood and placed on 6840 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the Jimmy Kimmel Studios on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 11:30 a.m.
How You Can Catch Dr.Dre Receiving His Star
Fans can attempt to witness this historic moment in person. Here are the details on how, according to the official Walk of Fame site:
- All star ceremonies are free to attend. There is a public viewing area for all Walk of Fame star ceremonies.
- Be sure to wear comfortable shoes hydrate, and bring sunscreen.
- They do not allow chairs or step ladders in the audience area of the ceremony.
- The star ceremony begins promptly at 11:30 a.m. and will be over by 12:15 p.m.
- The crowd must disperse immediately following the end of the star ceremony.
