DSRT Surf, the highly anticipated inland surf park in the Coachella Valley, is building toward an opening that could happen as soon as this month!
The Palm Springs Tribune reported that DSRT Surf is expected to open in late July, although DSRT Surf itself has not announced an expected opening date beyond “late summer 2026.”
All signs point to an imminent opening, as the website has already opened a sign-up for people to get early access to opening dates when they are released. This week and last, several major players posted about testing the new wave pool, including Surfline, Surfer Magazine, Tony Hawk, and Griffin Colapinto.
1,000 waves per hour
DSRT Surf is designed to bring ocean-style surfing to the desert using advanced wave technology capable of producing consistent, customizable swells. The massive lagoon can produce up to 1,000 waves per hour in a variety of sizes and types.
Sessions are catered to all skill levels, from beginners to experienced surfers looking to perfect their technique on high-performance waves. Prices start at $60 per hour for individual sessions, plus taxes and fees.
Beyond the surf lagoon, DSRT Surf is positioned as a lifestyle destination with a resort-like atmosphere, including a beachfront-style clubhouse, cabanas, event spaces, a pool and jacuzzi, pickleball, and a skate area.
If timelines hold, DSRT Surf could soon become one of California’s most unique new attractions—bringing reliable surf to one of the state’s driest landscapes.
