Many events had to be canceled or postponed this past January due to the devastating fires, ranging from the Oscar nominations to the complete closure of the PCH. Among the events on that list, the Firecracker Run was one of the ones that had to be rescheduled. Thankfully, the new date is set, and it’s sooner than you think.
The 47th Annual L.A. Chinatown Firecracker, celebrating the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Snake, is back on March 8th and 9th in Chinatown. The categories competing for the podium include the 5K Fun and Timed Runs, 10K Run, 1K Kiddie Run, 2K PAW’er Dog Walk, and the 17th Annual 20/50-Mile Bike Rides.
Participants and their guests can immerse themselves in the Lunar New Year Celebration at the heart of historic Chinatown, featuring an opening ceremony with lion dancers and the traditional lighting of 100,000 firecrackers. The Firecracker post-event festival is a two-day expo with exhibitors, a beer garden, vendors, activities for kids, live entertainment, and free admission for the public.
To register, you’ll need to pay between $28 and $65 (depending on the chosen event). If you’ve already signed up, don’t worry, your registration will be automatically transferred to the new dates, and you don’t need to do anything else.
