In true Eastside holiday spirit, a massive community giveback is happening this Friday. A delicious Thanksgiving dinner is heading straight to the tables of 500 local families. Food 4 Less and Ralphs are teaming up with Eastmont Community Center for a festive, feel-good distribution packed with holiday essentials, connection, and plenty of gratitude.
Hundreds of Turkeys & Dozens of Volunteers
More than 300 turkeys – all donated by the grocers – will be handed out alongside traditional Thanksgiving sides. Add in dozens of volunteers from neighborhood partners and organizations, and the result is a powerful show of what community support looks like in East Los Angeles.
Part of a Larger Zero Hunger Mission
The giveaway is part of Food 4 Less/Foods Co. and Ralphs’ ongoing work under Kroger’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste initiative, which focuses on boosting food equity and strengthening community resilience. In 2024 alone, the grocers provided 26 million meals and contributed $25 million in food and funds across California to help families facing food insecurity. A good meal can transform a holiday, and this Friday, the East LA community is coming together to make sure everyone gets a seat at the table.
