It seems Southern California is getting a really cold taste of winter tonight because the National Weather Service (NWS) has put out a Freeze Warning in certain areas that are expected to see sub-freezing temperatures — some as low as 27 degrees.
The National Weather Service states, “Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation. Extended exposure to cold can cause hypothermia for animals and people. Vehicle windshields will be frosted.”

- Ojai Valley
- Central Ventura County Valleys,
- Calabasas
- Agoura Hills
- Western San Fernando Valley
- Southeastern Ventura County Valleys
“With clear skies, light winds, and a very dry and cold air mass in place, tonight (Monday night — Tuesday morning) may be the coldest night of the season so far in many locations,” stated the NWS.

As of right now, this warning will issued from 1 a.m. to 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
🧷How You Can Stay Safe According To The NWS:
- Stay indoors and minimize travel.
- If you must travel, be sure to keep a winter survival kit in your vehicle. Learn how to build one here.
- Again, do not travel, but if you must be sure to check on your tire pressure, antifreeze levels, heater/defroster, etc.
- Learn how to shut off water valves in your building/home for potential pipe bursts.
- Check on those who are elderly.
- Bring your pets pets inside.
