Looking for cool things to do this fall? The Getty Center is offering drawing classes for guests alongside their new exhibition, Learning to Draw.
According to a press release, the Getty Center‘s latest exhibit “traces how European artists from the 16th to 19th century trained their eyes and hands through drawing.”
The gallery opens October 21, 2025 and runs through January 25, 2026.
Inside the gallery, visitors will find a sketching table equipped with drawing materials, where they are encouraged to draw inside the space. Your sketch can then be displayed right in the gallery entrance.
Getty is also offering free drawing sessions and live drawing demonstrations for visitors on one Sunday of the next four months. The classes and demonstrations will be first-come first-served, but some can be joined virtually.
“Whether you’re a seasoned artist or picking up the pencil for the first time, these events will let you see the techniques in action and try them yourself,” concludes the press release.
There are four class options:
Learning to Draw: Then and Now
Five Drawings, Five Minutes Each
Artist-at-Work: Figure Drawing
When and where?
The four dates available to take a drawing class or watch a demonstration are:
