Free jazz nights aren’t the only shows LACMA is hosting this summer!
Hancock Park, the grassy area next to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s Tar Pits, is also hosting a free show every Saturday, from May 23 through Labor Day in September. Visitors can catch a free Latin music show each week, with world-renowned artists from Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Peru, Los Angeles, and more performing modern sounds, salsa, Indigenous music, and more.
Depending on the show, a variety of food trucks will be available, like Tacos 1986. Two shows on June 20 and August 29 will also feature a dedicated dance floor. The June 20 show is also the same day as LACMA’s massive block party for the community, in celebration of the new David Geffen Galleries.
Only five shows are scheduled through June so far, but more are on the way. Be sure to keep an eye on their calendar for updates.
