Ah, it’s award show season! A time for glitz, glam, celebration — and the annual expected traffic. But don’t fret, we’ve got you covered so your commute won’t be too convoluted as the 96th Oscars Academy Award ceremony approaches.
The ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood, and preparations for the special event are already underway. Starting 8:00 a.m. on February 18, 2024, through 8:00 a.m. March 16, 2024, Orchid Alley from Orange Drive to Orchid Avenue will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Emergency vehicle access will be available.
Of course, that’s not all that is set to be closed. There are several other road closures scheduled as the special day grows closer.
Upcoming Oscars Academy Award Road Closures
Starting Sunday, February 25, 2024:
- The north curb lane of Hollywood Boulevard from Highland Avenue to the southeast corner of Orange Drive will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. through Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Except for MTA buses until Thursday, February 29, 2024.
- The north sidewalk of Hollywood Boulevard from Highland Avenue to 230 feet east of Orange Drive will be closed. There will be an 8-foot pedestrian access from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. through Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
- The east and west curb lanes on Orange Drive from Hollywood Boulevard to Orchid Alley will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. through Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
Starting Wednesday, February 28, 2024:
- The north curb lane of Hawthorn Avenue from Highland Avenue to Orange Drive will be closed from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024. The MTA will re-route bus traffic.
- The north sidewalk of Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Dolby Theatre will be closed from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. through Wednesday, March 13, 2024. The entire sidewalk will be closed in front of the entrance to Awards Walk. Pedestrian traffic will be re-routed. Emergency vehicle access will be available.
