You can travel to NYC this Saturday without actually having to deal with LAX or JFK. For one day only you can grab a delectable pastrami sandwich from the legendary Katz’s Delicatessen. It’s one of the most iconic delis in the world, and it’s here in L.A. this Saturday, June 29 only from 11am to 6pm.
This special pop-up event is brought to L.A. by Postmates and the Bar Next Door in West Hollywood. Be warned – they will only be serving a limited number of the famously delicious pastrami sandwiches. For those unfamiliar with these culinary delights, the pastrami is served on fluffy rye bread with a side of Katz’s legendary pickles and mustard made right in house.
Plan ahead because there’s only limited availability for a very limited time. You can order for either pickup or delivery through Postmates. Plus, the Bar Next Door will also have a limited quantity of sandwiches available at the bar for walk-in customers. Be prepared for a line, but it definitely won’t be as long as the wait you’d have to endure at the original Katz’s Deli in NYC.
A half pastrami sandwich will set you back $25, and a full sandwich will cost $45. But bring extra pocket money, because limited-edition branded merch will also be available for purchase. Just keep in mind that it’s still cheaper than flying all the way to NYC for lunch.
Come for the sandwich. Stay for the signature cocktail. The Bar Next Door will still serve their entire cocktail menu during the pop-up event. Additionally, you can order a specialty Coors Banquet cocktail to wash down that delectable pastrami. The special cocktail consists of Coors lager and a “dirty mixed brine martini shot” made with vodka and pickle, olive, and pepperoncini brine. It’s the perfect cocktail pairing to wash down a special sandwich piled-high with pastrami and house-made pickles.
