L.A. just keeps winning!
Fresh off the heels of a World Series win and a city-wide parade celebration, hometown rapper Kendrick Lamar just earned nine nominations at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
With these latest nominations, Lamar has become the most nominated person of the year! The decorated rapper currently has 66 nominations and 22 Grammy wins.
The Compton native is the frontrunner leading into the award ceremony, as “Not Like Us,” the lead single from his late 2024 album GNX, earned him wins in the Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video categories.
GNX was released just after the 2025 submission deadline, but the momentum from last year’s win and the global impact of “Not Like Us” could secure Lamar a win in the Album categories. The critically acclaimed album is Lamar’s fifth consecutive studio album to be nominated for Album of the Year, the first time an artist has ever done that. If K.Dot wins Album of the Year at next year’s ceremony, GNX would become the first rap album to win the honor since Outkast’s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below in 2004.
