Actor and comedian Kevin Hart’s first brick-and-mortar Hart House restaurant in Westchester is now open. The grand opening on August 25th began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to thank the Westchester Chamber of Commerce and honor Hart House’s community spotlight Inner City Arts. Along with the planet-friendly wholesomeness served up on the day, meals were especially guilt-free with 10% of the proceeds from the day going to the organization.
You can satisfy your cravings with their 100 percent plant-based menu, featuring burgers, sandwiches, nuggets, fries, salads, shakes and more. All food served by Hart House is guaranteed to be completely free of any preservatives, corn syrup, antibiotics, hormones and artificial colors.
Beyond his success on the big screen, Hart has created a name for himself in the fitness space with Nike endorsement deals, the launch of his own vitamin brand VitaHustle and now he is shaking up the food industry with this new venture.
Hart even teamed up with Chef Michael Salem, who is known as a leader in culinary innovation, to provide the ultimate plant-based foods and milkshakes for Hart House. Their overall goal is to make good fast-food sustainable and drop the negative connotations that may come with the word “vegan.” Through this, the team hopes to remind us that this food is not just for vegans, but for everyone of any life-style.
“Ultimately what we’re trying to accomplish is converting folks that have traditionally been carnivores and eating at other quick service fast food restaurants to come here, not because we’re vegan, but because we’re just better in terms of the flavor and the crave-ability. Now, the benefit is we happen to be vegan,” shared Chef Mike with Secret Los Angeles. “And what it is you can drink the milkshakes, you can eat the burgers, you can eat the chicken nuggets, but you got no cholesterol.”
As a quick-service eatery committed to respecting people, animals, and the ecosystem, you’ll be excited to hear that another location is scheduled to open in Hollywood soon, along with one more in the U.S. that is yet to be disclosed.
“[We] want them to walk away feeling really happy. I think that’s one of the most important aspects of food. It’s my favorite quote around food. It’s from Ben Franklin, that ‘the taste of the roast is only as good as the handshake of the host.’ So I want this brick and mortar to be filled with love. I want people to really feel that when they come in, and I want it to be authentic,” expressed Chef Mike. “We’re about accessibility, and we’re about providing this type of solution for everyone, whether it’s here on Sepulveda, whether it’s in Compton, whether it’s in the Midwest. We want to change the game and make people think a little bit longer and harder about doing the right thing.”
