“Sweet-Or-Treat” Saturdays are about to become your favorite Halloween tradition.
You’re favorite doughnut joint (yes, Reddit sees everything and that includes the permanent convoy of sweet-toothed fans wrapped around the block outside Krispy Kreme drive-throughs) is celebrating the spooky month with the most COVID-friendly version of trick-or-treating. Instead of riling the neighbors and going house-to-house for candy, you’ll get to hit up one Krispy Kreme shop starting from October 10 and get treated to an extra dozen doughnuts for just $1.
So what’s the trick? Well, in order to qualify for a sugar-induced coma, you’ll need to buy a dozen glazed rings yourself. Once you’ve made that purchase, you’ll automatically qualify for another 12! And the magic doesn’t stop there. Krispy Kreme has also debuted a creepy array of Halloween-themed confectionery to sink your fangs into.
Meet the trio of monsters hiding in your takeaway boxes from October 5: the Frank Monster donut filled with original cream, dipped in green icing, and with pretzel bolts; the Drake Monster donut oozing raspberry filling and frosting fangs; then the glazed Wolfie Monster donut that’s dipped in chocolate icing and decorated werewolf like a with chocolate cream, a sugar face, and cinnamon sugar cereal ears.
Each dozen includes a special-edition Jack-o’-Lantern Doughnut alongside Classic Glazed donuts and they’ll be individually wrapped to make it slightly safer to get into the Halloween spirit and share it with friends and family.
To end off the month on a (sugar) high, you can head to a Krispy Kreme on October 31 in your Halloween gear to earn yourself a free drought. All of these sweet specials will be available at drive-throughs, or through orders made online or through the app for door-side pickup. Use the code “SweetOrTreat” on the app or in shops.
Happy spooky season!
