On Saturday night, L.A. city hall displayed a blue and yellow glow as a show of solidarity with the European nation. It was one of several major landmarks across the globe to light up in the colors of Ukraine’s flag, in recognition of the ongoing conflict in Eastern Europe. Others included the Empire State Building in New York, the London Eye, the Eiffel Tower in Paris and Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.
On Sunday, the Mayor of L.A. Eric Garcetti tweeted a photo of the illuminated historic building and a caption that read, “Angelenos stand with our Ukrainian brothers and sisters.”
